Our students are being called members of the video age. They have access to video on their phones, computers, laptops, TVs. They are not only viewing video as part of their leisure time but making videos constantly. The need for education to bring their understanding and use of video in to our teaching practice is obvious and with it all the advantages and possibilities that video offers.

This course brings together three outstanding educators who have excellent and prolonged experience in innovative, yet practical and effective, video in language teaching, is a first. See Tutors

Who should apply

The course is for teachers of any language, including English, and other language professionals. who wish to:

  • understand how to use video and screen capture in their language classroom
  • increase their understanding and skills in using and making video
  • explore the potential for using video in their teaching

Attendees should have at least English at B2 level of the Common European Framework.

Parkgate Road Campus is 20 minutes’ walk from Chester Railway Station, and a taxi will cost approximately £5.

Air

The nearest airports to Chester are Manchester International and Liverpool John Lennon, They have low cost flights from most countries in Europe. Both are hubs for Easyjet and Ryanair. From the airport there are frequent bus/train services to Chester.

Train

Chester station is accessible from all of the UK with direct trains to London, Liverpool, Manchester, and North Wales. You can book in advance on the Trainline site.

Bus/Coach
Chester has regular National Express Coach services from most towns and cities in the UK to the Chester Bus Exchange on Hunters Walk. A new Bus Exchange is due to open at Gorse Stacks in 2017.

Car

Sat Nav – CH1 4BJ

Chester is linked directly to the national motorway system via the M53. London and all the major regions
of the UK are easily accessible from the city. The campus is situated along Parkgate Road (A540), which is a continuation of Northgate Street leading out from the city centre. Access to the main car park is by the Exton Park entrance.
